A word from the team

In ten years of building HeyJobs, we talked to thousands of recruiters. One sentence kept coming back: "I know I'm turning away good people. I simply don't have the time to talk to everyone."

That never left us.

Because behind every application is a person who hopes for something. A fresh start, a shorter commute, a team where they truly belong. And behind every open role is a company looking for exactly that person.

The problem was never a lack of willingness. The problem was always time.

A company receives 25 applications for one role and talks to five or six. The other 20 get a rejection based on their resume, sometimes after weeks, sometimes not at all. But who says that initial selection is right? That we didn't overlook candidate number 18 because her career path wasn't linear? Or number 14 because a photo triggered an unconscious bias?

Ever since founding HeyJobs, we had a dream: How amazing would it be if every person who applies actually got a real conversation? If the decision wasn't based on a resume, but on what someone shares, shows and brings to the table?
